Help for sole proprieter of a small, woman-owned business.
I own an environmental consulting and testing firm (I am the only employee). I oversee the removal of asbestos, lead, and other hazardous materials, and enforce environmental regulations to ensure the safety of the public and the environment. My job is part cop, part Bill Nye the Science Guy. I was injured in an auto accident last year, and since then I have missed out on many opportunities for work. I was rear-ended, and my car was totaled. Because of this accident, I had to forfeit a great contract on the USS Enterprise. I lost my shirt. To make matters worse, during this time I spent my entire savings trying to save my three beloved cats who all died of cancer within 5 months of each other.I am on the verge of having to close my business, I can't pay the vendors, I don't even have a car. I desperately need running capital to get back on track. I have been in the environmental field for many years, I love what I do, and I am well-respected. I don't want to give it up.
