I am retired Army, married, father of six. (4 girls and 2 boys) Recently I was evicted (16 Jun 09) from my home. Because of the eviction and poor credit I can't rent right now. We got behind because my wife had to stop workng because of a heart problem and then she had a stroke in Jun 08. In September 08 we had a $1750.00 car repair bill. We were down to one vehicle then. Then, in June 08 daughter 1 divorced and returned home with 2 kids and in the same month daughter # 3 broke up with her boyfriend and returned with a child. Daughter # 2 is in the Army; she has helped some. So, their were 10 people in a 3 bedroom with only one person working, me. We have being staying in different hotels about every 2 weeks, saying there are four people instead of 10. I have borrowed from family and friends, and check cashing places. Now with my wife starting to receive disability, my retirement pay, my job at KMART, we would like to be given a chance to rent a home again. 3 months, 6 months, or a year. Daughter # 4 is expected to join the Army in Nov 09.
With poor credit and being previously evicted reqiures anywhere from 2.5 to 3 times the deposit.
