Elderly couple needs help to recover from devastation.
I am 58 and my husband is 73 and we've been together 35 yars this coming July. He retired from the car business in 2001. In 2003, we turned our existing part-time mobile auto detailing service into a full-time business. We developed a water saving system. Water conservation in Florida is a priority; but people still need to maintain their vehicle, one of their biggest investments. My husband and I are the crew; and we do expert professional work. Our business and our reputation were growing.
In 2006, due to the negligence of a trusted 'friend', my husband was seriously injured in an accident and our lives took a nose dive. We have been struggling ever since to keep our house, pay bills and eat. Besides being battered and broken at his age, he fell into waves of deep depression and he's just now turning around. After a very long recovery, my husband has been working with me again, but the work is intensive labor, physically draining for people our ages in Florida's summer heat index and over 100% humidity most of the summer.
To add to the flame, this past two year's economy redirected people's spending; and detailing their cars seems to be low on the priority list.
I have taught myself the computer, website design and construction, online marketing. I work every day trying to get to the level where I can start making money online and get us out of the detailing business - but detailing is what is paying the bills such as it is. We are behind in our mortgage and in most utilities and we still have to eat. I would love to take a couple courses to push me ahead into actually getting ahead.
If we could get enough money to live on until I can make a living on the computer, we would be in great shape. We also want to get more involved with our community and I want to teach social networking and blogging to senior citizens.
Please, can you help? We are so grateful for anything you can do.
