Botched Operation Has Left Me Destitute!! Need help please!
Hi - My name is Karen. On October 31 2008, I went into the hospital for what was supposed to be a simple hysterectomy. Things went terribly wrong in the next 72 hours and I was rushed into emergency surgery on Nov 3rd for a perforated intestine (hole in my intestine). All of the poisons and waste inside my colon had leaked into my abdominal area and I would have died if the surgeon on call hadn't acted as fast as he did. He saved my life, but , of course, the whole thing has ruined me financially. I spent 2 weeks in ICU and the regular room in the hospital, then when released, spent one month in a hospital bed in the living room. I am able to walk and lift up to 10 pounds now, but will still be temporarily disabled until about May.
I am a self employed painter and drywall repair contractor and have not been able to work. Our family is in desperate need of some help. My husband has been as wonderful as he can, but his wage does not pay the bills. Our three young ones (9; 6; and 4) are, thankfully, oblivious to the financial mess this has put us in, but we are now facing losing everything we own. We have made all the arrangements we can with our creditors (some have been great, others have been tyrrants).
We just need some help to get through this while I am unable to work. I've worked all my life and have never needed help like now, but have always tried to be a good person and help others in need .
