25 Week Preemie Twins now desperate to cover bills.
In March 2005, our twin boys were born at just 25 weeks weighing in at 1lb 10oz and 1lb 8oz. We were blessed in that our insurance covered most of their over $2.5MM in hospital /ambulance / surgery charges but I was forced to quit my job to stay home and take care of them. We'd actually just built a house knowing we were expecting twins and worked very hard to pay off our debt. We moved in, they came early, I had to quit since they couldn't be around others for almost the first 2 yrs of life. Joe is legally blind and learning impaired but otherwise they're both blessings to us! We were going to sell the house since we couldn't afford it when the market crashed and we've been falling behind ever since. Dr's said we'd never get pregnant - twins were a miracle. Then we decided when they were 18mths that I HAD to go back because the debt was piling up. 2 wks later we find out we're pregnant. Bedrest from wk 14 on and had to take cash from credit cards to pay a nanny to care for the twins while I lay in bed with an IV to stop the contractions. Now NOBODY will pay me enough to put 3 kids into daycare and actually have any money left to bring home. We have not vacationed or "played" and my husband and I haven't even been out on a "date" for almost a year because we just can't afford it. Our cards are in collections and we're desperately just trying to pay some minimum payments while NOT losing our home. PLEASE please if you have the ability without shorting yourself, please help us. Jeff's student loans are in payback status now and we've no deferrments or forebearances left and that's another 200/mth when we're already falling behind over 500/mth now as it is. We will lose the only vehicle that fits all of us in June because we can't make payments. We have 45k on credit cards, 35k in student loans and 16k in car payments. I don't want extra money - I don't need to be rich or have anything more than I have today. I just need to have some help to be able to keep a roof over our heads, feed us and keep us happy and safe and together. Please help me.
